RFL 2010 - Lunar & Tensai's Alice Build

One of the designer builds at this year's RFL race was that of Steelhead's Mr. TotalLunar Eclipse and Miss Tensai Hilra, titled "Alice." A lovely, haunted site, filled with Steampunk and Gothic elements as well as nods to Alice in Wonderland.

I loved the mechanical caterpillar:

Below is the "Hydro-Teslatron," a recreation of an exhibit in Niagara Falls, celebrating both the harnessing of the waterfall for electrical power and the contributions of Nikola Tesla to electricity.

The Steamlands have some of the most talented people anywhere on the grid!

We certainly enjoyed building it.

Very nice! I never did get to see it as I was on holiday at the time - that and I steer clear of the whole RFL stuff...

I certainly understand that RFL isn't everyone's cup o' tea, especially outside the U.S. But many of the builds are impressive.

Indeed they are and the cause noble, but the efort drains SL of the very thing I seek for 3 months or more. It's too much. Outside SL's many crashes and glitches, RFL is the one thing that has made me want to leave.

Yeah, I understand. If you're not into the RFL hype, it's difficult to ignore. Look on the bright side: you're safe for another few months! :)
