The Phantasmagoria Theater

Not far from Chez Jameson - though, with two sim crossings, it feels like a parsec or more some nights - stands the Phantasmagoria Theater, owned and operated by Mr. Madmaninc Zapetero.

The Art Deco-style doors (with a clever stick figure embedded in the center) welcome the visitor to the theater lobby.

Of course, what theater would be complete without a concession stand, with candy bars, popcorn, and cotton candy?

The ticket booth in the lobby reminds one that this is an active theater, with a main screen and four smaller rooms. The main screen generally shows a varying program - December's is entitled "Silent Nights of December Silent Film Fest," with well-known movies, such as The Battleship Potemkin, M, and Nanook of the North, along with lesser-known films from the silent era - while the side theaters allow patrons to select films in categories such as "Adventure," "Comedy," "Fantasy," and "Drama."

Watching The Great Train Robbery in the Adventure Theater. "You dastards! Fiends!"

The theater is a little out of theme - both the decor and the subject matter (even the silent films are all post-Victorian) - but perhaps close enough, in the grand scheme of things.

And did I mention the movies are free?

Should we mention the owner had a bad habit of crashing other people's events wearing a billboard for his theatre and spamming the Ning groups? I actively avoid his establishment for that reason.

Well, thus far, a good neighbor. I shall have to contemplate my reaction to a billboard-wearing gate-crasher, however, should the need arise. Perhaps a visit to Miss Malaprop's establishment will spark some inspiration... :)
