Celebrating Imbolc

Dame Abigail and Lady Amber hosted the third Imbolc dance at the Pavilion in Caledon Moors.

Imbolc is a pagan festival of Spring. To quote Wikipedia: "Imbolc is one of the four principal festivals of the Wheel of the Year, celebrated among Neopagans, Wiccans, and other similar cultures either at the beginning of February or at the first local signs of Spring. Most commonly it is celebrated on February 2, since this is the cross-quarter day on the solar calendar, halfway between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox in the northern hemisphere."

Imbolc was adopted as St. Brigid's Day in the Celtic calendar.

Mr. Drinkwater was into the spirit of the season, bringing with him ribbons for a morris dance, an English folk dance involving choreographed steps among a panoply of participants, often with props, such as the ribbons.
