Naughty Alice

Striking a slightly more adult pose than the previous sims (though Nevaria promises "dark" RP), Jabberwocky, in the Oriental Express sim, conceives of Alice as a girl with mental health problems. The visitor to Alice's room is very small in relation to the furniture, which includes this prescription for Thorazine...

...and these restraints on the bed.

The real fun starts in Syryns Sanctum, a closed (one must be a group member to enter the sim, apart from the shopping area) area devoted to women who enjoy a, ah, certain lifestyle. One themed part of the sim is based on Alice - but a naughty, naughty Alice.

One starts with the hookah-smoking caterpillar, which seems to be common to a number of these sims and designed to give some "street cred" to begin with. As a non-smoker, it doesn't do anything for me.
More "drink me" bottles...
Then one sees - what? A rabbit with a young Japanese woman in a provocative pose. Did the creators have a different edition of Alice than the one I read? Where did that come from?
One of the now-ubiquitous large rabbits graces an area with more cartoon-style pictures with girls in provocative poses.
Then through the small door...
...and into an area with various NSFW poseballs. Well, to each her own, but I never did get the connection with the books.

All in all, I got the impression that various content creators thought Alice was recognizable and cool in some fashion, but didn't know what to do with the theme once they created it. The Alice ride was one exception. Nevaria is trying to take the story in a different direction through role-playing, and it remains to see how successful they will be in doing so.
